UISALUD joined the commemoration of Global Handwashing Day with an awareness day held at the unit’s facilities, where collaborators and users actively participated in educational activities on this fundamental practice for the prevention of infectious diseases.
During the day, clear and accessible information was provided on the importance of proper hand washing, emphasizing that this action, although simple, can save lives when carried out with the correct technique and at the right times, such as before consuming food, after going to the bathroom or after contact with commonly used surfaces.
As part of the pedagogical strategy, informative flyers were distributed with step-by-step instructions on proper hand washing with soap and water, as well as recommendations on the key moments when this practice should be carried out to ensure its effectiveness. These materials were designed to reinforce the message of self-care and encourage healthy habits among attendees.
With this type of activities, UISALUD reaffirms its commitment to health promotion and disease prevention, remembering that small actions, such as frequent hand washing, have a great impact on the protection of individual and collective health.
