An unforgettable day was experienced by about 1,800 young people who had their first day at the central campus of the Universidad Industrial de Santander during the week of induction to university life.
Happy, nervous, excited faces and above all with the motivation to start a new stage of their lives were a constant throughout this Monday.
“For me it is an important achievement to be in the university, to represent it and give it my all academically. The UIS is important nationally, it has the career I like, I achieved the dream of moving to this university and I am grateful for having the opportunity to be here, “said Laura Sofia Sanchez Lozano, student of Nutrition and Dietetics.
During the day the young people also met the members of the Academic Council, with the objective of knowing where they are going and learning about the division that the University has in terms of Faculties and Schools.
At the event they also learned about the meaning of being a UIS student, the importance and responsibility that this represents. At the end of the day they toured the central campus to get to know it in detail.
“I was born to enter the UIS campus, it is renowned and I like it for the future I want to build. I knew the university and when in high school they made us come, I was even more in love with the UIS, it was my dream to be here and I want to be a graduate of the UIS,” said Daniel Rueda Bayona, Philosophy student.
Throughout the week there will be cultural, academic and sports activities for a greater appropriation of the students towards their new house of studies, all this led from the organization by the System of Academic Excellence (SEA).
