UIS to hold seminar on sports psychology

The coach and the challenges of psychological preparation. General aspects’ is the seminar to be held this Saturday, virtually, and organized by the Department of Physical Education and Sports of the UIS.

The academic space will address issues such as psychological control in sports training and mental preparation for competition, in order to enrich the knowledge of the participants and strengthen the comprehensive approach in sport.

The seminar will be held from 8:00 a.m. to noon and will be led by Martha Cañizares Hernández and Hugo Mario Matuk Triana. She is a doctor in Psychological Sciences, professor and current director of the Center for the Study of Psychology of Sport and Physical Activity at the Manuel Fajardo University of Physical Culture and Sport Sciences in Havana (Cuba).

Matuk Triana is a graduate in Physical Education, psychologist, specialist in Psychology and Master in Education; he was also a professor at the UIS.

This event will take place within the framework of the subject Psychological Bases for Sports Training, offered by the curriculum of the Master’s Degree in Sports Talent Development.
