UIS students interested in applying for a place in the Universidad Industrial de Santander (UIS) Student Residences may find this information useful.
From August 19 to 23, Student Welfare Services is accepting applications for the selection process for students seeking admission to the Student Residences located on the Central Campus and at the Downtown Campus. The call is open to both male and female students and takes into account academic and financial criteria, as well as applicants’ vulnerability conditions.
The Student Residences are a support strategy designed to help ensure the necessary conditions for students to remain at the University and fully develop their university experience.
Who can apply?
- Students whose place of origin and family residence are outside the Bucaramanga Metropolitan Area, preferably in a rural area.
- Students who have completed a minimum of 22 academic credits, equivalent to completing and passing the second academic level.
- Students with a cumulative GPA of 3.40 or higher.
- Students whose tuition fee is less than or equal to three times the minimum tuition fee.
How does the application process work?
- Visit the institutional website: www.uis.edu.co.
- Go to Students / Student System.
- Log in using your student code, academic program, and password.
- Select the following path: University Student Welfare Services / Student Services / Benefits / Apply, and choose the corresponding option according to your situation and benefit priority (1).
After applications close, the process will continue with an initial validation of the results in the system, scheduled for August 24 and 25. This first stage will identify a group of students who will subsequently be invited to take psychometric tests.

What happens next?
Based on the results obtained, a second selection phase will be conducted, during which Student Welfare professionals will comprehensively assess the applicants’ circumstances. This assessment will consider factors such as vulnerability, support networks, and socioeconomic conditions.
This evaluation will determine the group of students who will ultimately receive one of the available places in the Student Residences. The assessment of these conditions will take place from August 27 to September 3, while selected students are expected to move into the residences on Monday, September 7.
