UIS Student! Participate in the fifth session of Cátedra Low Maus

This Thursday, March 20, the School of Law and Political Science of the Universidad Industrial de Santander (UIS) will hold the fifth session of the Low Maus Chair, focused on ethics towards non-human sentient beings and animal liberation. The event will take place at 3:00 p.m. at the Agora of the Faculty of Human Sciences.

The session will include the participation of prominent speakers, such as Esteban Álvarez, Inspector of the Protection of Life Section, and Juan Luis Muñoz, Environmental Police Inspector of the Mayor’s Office of Envigado. The experts will address crucial issues related to the competencies of the police authorities in dealing with cases of animal abuse, as well as the administrative processes in the possession of wildlife and the role of the environmental authorities.

The Low Maus Chair seeks to generate a space for reflection and debate on the need for a new ethics that considers the welfare of non-human sentient beings. The entire student community is invited to participate and contribute to this important conversation on the protection of and respect for animals.
