Image of the activity

From February 24 to 28, in Cartagena, the event “Latin American School of Scientometrics 2025” will be held, an initiative co-organized by the Colombian Observatory of Science and Technology (OCyT) and the Centre for Science and Technology Studies (CWTS) of Leiden University, and sponsored by the Universidad Industrial de Santander.

This school seeks to strengthen capacities in scientometric analysis in Latin America. Through a hybrid approach. The event brings together international and regional experts to offer theoretical and practical training on network analysis and the use of scientific visualization tools. This space fosters collaboration, innovation and regional impact. It is not necessary to have extensive knowledge in Bibliometrics.

Reasons to participate?

  • Advanced data analysis: Learn innovative scientometric techniques to analyze networks and visualize data with tools such as VOSviewer and R-Bibliometrix.
  • International instructors: Training by world-renowned experts from CWTS Leiden University and OCyT, with practical and academic experience.
  • Hybrid format: Participate in a face-to-face or virtual format, with limited spaces to guarantee an interactive and enriching experience.
  • Open Science: Explore the potential of open data and free software in scientometrics.
