The Universidad Industrial de Santander (UIS) informs its students that the deadline for submitting degree projects to the Central Library is Wednesday, March 5. This requirement is essential for those who wish to participate in the graduation ceremonies scheduled for March 27 and 28.
Thanks to the digitization of the process, the deposit of degree projects is now done virtually through the Institutional Repository of the Central Library. “We have an open access online platform where the academic and scientific production of the university, the result of teaching, research and extension, is disseminated,” explained César Acevedo Arguello, a professional at the UIS Central Library.
This system allows students in their last semester to speed up the delivery of their research from anywhere. Once the document is received, the Library team verifies compliance with the formal standards and the completeness of the required supports, which include the monograph or thesis, the project note or the minutes of support and the letter of authorization for the publication of the document. “Instructions and templates to guide the process are available on the Library’s website. Students must fill out a form with their data and upload all the files in PDF format,” added Acevedo Arguello.
For Natalia Fuentes, a student in her last semester of History and Archival Studies at the UIS, this system represents a significant advance. “My professors and classmates who graduated in previous years mentioned that the process was more complex, with the delivery of documents in physical and face-to-face form. Now it is much simpler and more accessible. You just have to follow the steps of self-archiving. This innovation is aligned with the Library’s digital transformation, facilitating a more efficient service,” he noted.
For more information, consult the UIS Central Library website and make sure to comply with the requirements within the established deadline.
