The Language Institute of the Universidad Industrial de Santander (UIS) commemorates its 35th anniversary, consolidating its commitment to language teaching and the integral formation of its students. Since its foundation in 1990, the institute has been a reference in language training, contributing to the academic and professional development of thousands of students.
Throughout these three and a half decades, the Instituto de Lenguas has evolved to adapt to the demands of the globalized world, implementing innovative methodologies and updating its curriculum to include languages such as English, French, German, Portuguese, among others. The institution has worked hard to offer programs that not only focus on grammar and pronunciation, but also integrate cultural and communicative aspects essential for effective language proficiency.
To celebrate this important anniversary, the institute has organized a series of activities tomorrow, Friday, April 4, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 m. in front of the Mechanical Engineering Building that include dance therapy sessions, as well as the development of recreational and pedagogical activities for the academic community to join in the celebration.
UIS Language Institute Director Laura Dueñas expressed her pride in the achievements and thanked teachers, students and alumni for their dedication and effort. “This anniversary is not only a celebration of our past, but also an opportunity to look to the future and continue working for a quality education that allows our students to be internationally competitive,” she said.
The UIS Language Institute remains committed to its mission of promoting language learning and contributing to the social and cultural development of the region, consolidating itself as a fundamental pillar in the formation of global citizens.
With a trajectory marked by innovation and commitment, the Language Institute is preparing to face new challenges and continue its educational work for many years to come.
