In an exercise of transparency and commitment to excellence, the administrative vice-rector of the UIS, Gerardo Latorre Bayona, gathered the administrative units of the University to socialize the importance and work schedule within the framework of the Single Management Progress Report Form (FURAG) 2024. This tool allows measuring the progress of the entities in the implementation of the Integrated Planning and Management Model (MIPG) in the public sector, contributing to a more efficient administration, regulatory compliance, decision making, oriented to citizen service.
“The measurement allows national and territorial public institutions to diagnose their processes, identify opportunities for improvement and strengthen their management in key areas such as Human Resources, Strategic Direction and Planning, Management for Results with Values, Evaluation of Results, Information and Communication, Knowledge Management and Innovation and Internal Control”, informed Latorre Bayona.

During the event, Latorre Bayona reminded each unit of the importance of responding transparently and objectively to this self-evaluation process, backed by concrete evidence. “Our goal is to identify opportunities for improvement and enhance our strengths, ensuring an efficient management aligned with the needs of the academic community and citizenship.”
Thanks to the articulated work of the Management and Performance Committee, the UIS has optimized its methodology for responding to the FURAG, ensuring a more coherent evaluation with its institutional reality. “We have left behind the isolated approach and now work in synergy, which has allowed us to more accurately reflect the university’s progress and achievements,” added the administrative vice rector.
The challenge for 2024 is clear: to improve management indicators. In 2023, the UIS achieved an institutional performance index of 92, showing a significant improvement compared to the 74.8 obtained in 2022. This result highlights the leadership and commitment of the Administrative Vice Rectory, Planning, the Internal Control and Management Evaluation Office, the Institutional Management and Performance Committee and the MIPG technical team, as well as the articulated collaboration and leadership of all administrative units.
