UIS Chemical Engineers participate in a labor day of the Dominican company Quala

Graduates of the School of Chemical Engineering of the Universidad Industrial de Santander (UIS) had the opportunity to participate in a labor recruitment day organized in conjunction with the multinational company Quala, from the Dominican Republic. This event, promoted by the Directorate of External Relations of the UIS, sought to connect local talent with one of the main mass consumption companies in the Americas.

The day began with a meeting between Quala representatives and directors of the School of Chemical Engineering, where the objectives and the recruitment process were discussed. This meeting allowed teachers and managers to learn about the expectations and needs of the company, thus strengthening academic and business collaboration.

“We are proud as a university to receive today the company Quala from the Dominican Republic, who will be in charge of making a recruitment ‘in situ’ with the graduates of chemical engineering UIS” said Liliana del Pilar Castro, Director of External Relations UIS.

Later in the afternoon, an information session was held for the graduates, where the participants received details about the company, the positions available and the selection process, which includes technical and soft skills tests.

For Rocio Valerio, Head of Human Management at Quala, “the technical profile of UIS graduates is striking”; she also highlighted that they have had experience with graduates of Chemical Engineering from the university, who have been linked to the company and said that “they have a very competitive profile, which makes the profile of the professionals here applicable to our company”.

“What we have seen in the profile of the chemical engineers of the UIS is that they have a very deep technical training, they also have a comprehensive approach, they can handle multi-projects and that is why we are interested in approaching and continue hiring people from here” said Cristina Maldonado, Director of Research and Development of Quala.

The recruitment day will last until tomorrow, Thursday, April 24, providing UIS chemical engineers with a valuable opportunity to enter the labor market and contribute to the growth of Quala, a company dedicated to the production and distribution of food, beverages, personal care products, ice cream and candy, among others. This initiative reinforces the commitment of the UIS with the integral formation of its graduates and its link with the industrial sector.
