The Central Library of the Universidad Industrial de Santander (UIS) will offer a special 24-hour schedule starting this Saturday, December 7, from 2:00 p.m. until Saturday, December 14. This service seeks to provide students with a safe and adequate space to prepare for their final exams.
“During this week of exams, the second floor of the Library will operate continuously so that students can fulfill their academic responsibilities. In addition, we will offer refreshments in the early mornings as additional support for those studying during these hours,” explained Pedro García, director of the UIS Library.
The Academic Excellence System (SEA) will also be present during these special hours, making available trained tutors who will provide counseling in various subjects, such as chemistry, physics, descriptive algebra and calculus. “Students will be able to respectfully approach the tutors, who will be identified with distinctive colored vests. Our goal is to resolve concerns and offer strategies that contribute to a better performance in the exams,” said Jason Ospino, SEA tutor.
The initiative, which in previous semesters has proven to be critical for students in the final stages of the academic calendar, has been enthusiastically received. “It is a great opportunity provided by the Library. Having this space allows us to study in a comfortable environment, share knowledge with classmates and take advantage of the bibliographic resources and the accompaniment of the SEA tutors,” said Leidy Lopez, Industrial Engineering student.
Finally, the administration of the Central Library extends an invitation to the entire student community to take care of the recently renovated furniture, emphasizing that this space is now one of the most modern and comfortable in the country.
