UIS Barbosa hosts second student Research Groups Meeting

Encuentro UIS Barbosa

The Universidad Industrial de Santander – Barbosa Campus, in partnership with CENIVAM, hosted the Second Student Research Groups Meeting, bringing together nearly 200 students from schools in Moniquirá, San José de Pare, Simijaca, Jesús María, and Barbosa, as well as representatives from the Escuela de Carabineros de Vélez.

The event aimed to encourage young students’ interest in science and research, creating a space where participants could present their projects, exchange ideas, and learn from one another.

Throughout the day, students showcased their research through presentations and a scientific poster exhibition, addressing a range of topics related to their educational and social contexts and demonstrating their institutions’ commitment to fostering research skills from an early stage.

The program also featured a lecture by Marlon Yesid Cáceres Ortiz, PhD in Biomedical Sciences, who shared reflections on the scientific method, the challenges of research, and the importance of curiosity and ethics in the construction of knowledge.

The event concluded with a recognition ceremony for the participating institutions, highlighting their commitment to promoting research and critical thinking among younger generations.

Through initiatives like this, the Universidad Industrial de Santander – Barbosa Campus continues to strengthen scientific culture in the region and promote collaboration between academia and educational communities.
