With the aim of dispelling misconceptions related to academic and administrative procedures, the Student Welfare Office will hold the activity “Fantasies That Lead to Errors in Academic and Administrative Procedures”, aimed at members of the undergraduate student community.
The event will take place on Tuesday, August 25, at 11:00 a.m. in Auditorium SEA 217, located in the Student Welfare building. The activity will be led through the Academic and Administrative Procedures (TAA) preventive educational program, headed by social worker Karen Yaneth Nevado Castellanos.
Session seeks to provide guidance to help minimize errors when submitting academic requests and to illustrate how assumptions and misconceptions can lead to confusion when carrying out the following procedures at the university:
- Make-up exams.
- Readmission.
- Course or semester cancellations.
- Transfers to other undergraduate programs.
- Simultaneous enrollment in academic programs, among others.
“Misconceptions vs. Reality”
To this end, common situations and frequently asked questions will be addressed through examples that allow participants to contrast what they believe with the corresponding institutional information. Through the “Misconceptions vs. Reality” activity, participants will learn about the procedures, their scope, and the support services and available pathways designed to facilitate their completion.
As part of the preventive educational component of Student Welfare, the Comprehensive Health Services Coordination invites members of the student community to participate in the activity:
“Don’t let someone else tell you about it come and participate. Knowing about academic and administrative procedures is also a responsible action in university life.”
In this way, the university contributes to preventing mistakes resulting from incomplete information or misconceptions.
