The School of Rights and Political Science of the Industrial University of Santander (UIS) invites the student community to the seventh session of the Low Maus Chair, an academic space that seeks to explore and promote a new ethics in the relationship with non-human sentient beings. This event will take place next Thursday, April 10 at 3:00 p.m. in the Human Sciences Agora.
The day’s lecture, entitled “Multispecies families: violent dynamics, food, custody, visits and conciliation as a mechanism to settle these disputes,” will address issues of great relevance today, such as the complex interactions between humans and animals in the family context. The discussion will focus on how these dynamics can generate conflicts and how conciliation can be an effective tool to resolve disputes.
The guest speakers for this session are professors from the UIS School of Law: Stephania Figueroa, María Paula Suárez and Karen Pérez, who will contribute their knowledge and experience in the field of animal law and ethics. The moderation will be in charge of Professor Paola Silva, also from the School of Law, who will guide the conversation and encourage the exchange of ideas among the attendees.
This event is not only an opportunity to learn about ethics in the relationship with non-human sentient beings, but also to reflect on how our decisions and actions can impact other species. The Low Maus Chair continues to be a reference in the promotion of a critical and constructive dialogue.
