Implementation of cultural projects and communication for development’ is the first workshop to be held at the Universidad Industrial de Santander, as part of the implementation and socialization of the UIS Cultural Policy.
This activity will be held on November 21 from 8:00 a.m. in the Jorge Zalamea Room and will address issues such as criteria for creating a cultural project of impact, communication strategies for development, creative writing and social inclusion, among others, all under the guidance of Edna Liliana Valencia, social communicator with emphasis in international journalism and communication for development.
A day later, Carlos Mauricio Galeano, master in Cultural Management and former general director of the District Institute of the Arts of Bogota (Idartes), will be in charge of the event ‘Adaptive management of cultural projects’.
Skills such as resilience, creative adaptation, uncertainty management and creativity in problem solving will be developed, encouraging collaborative decision-making and flexible planning so that cultural projects can evolve in the face of unexpected challenges.
On November 26 and 27, the workshop ‘How to make a living from the arts and knowledge: analyzing the case of music of oral tradition’ will be held, which seeks to generate skills and competencies in the processes of recording works as the main axis of cultural projects, allowing artists, researchers and university cultural managers to make a living from the arts and knowledge.
The purpose of the Cultural Policy of the Universidad Industrial de Santander is to generate a synergy among the members of the university community, to promote the recognition, appropriation, preservation and dissemination of all its cultural potential, its resources, processes and cultural spaces, in order to put it at the service of all its members and citizens, with the aim of contributing to the achievement of the mission and vision of the UIS.
