The UIS strengthens its global presence with 114 international agreements in 22 countries

The Director of External Relations of the UIS, Liliana del Pilar Castro, presented to the last Academic Council of this triennium, a balance on international academic cooperation and expansion plans of the Universidad Industrial de Santander (UIS) in global networks, highlighting the sustained growth of the university in strategic alliances that enhance its global projection.

Currently, the UIS has 114 agreements in force in 22 countries, among which Brazil, Mexico, France, Chile and Spain stand out as the main collaboration destinations. These agreements have expanded the possibilities of double degrees, academic mobility and participation in research networks, consolidating the UIS as a relevant actor in the international academic scenario.

“The Academic Council invited me to make an evaluation of the cooperation agreements with the University, with the objective of making this articulated work visible and reviewing the indicators of the Institutional Development Program,” explained Castro. The presentation also addressed the need to expand the range of agreements, strengthen the participation of the UIS in collaborative networks and foster new strategic alliances.

According to the official, this not only positions the name of the UIS in the world, but also “generates opportunities for incoming and outgoing academic mobility that enrich the education of students and allow them to have a global perspective with local impact in the region.

With this strategy, the UIS reaffirms its commitment to academic excellence and internationalization, fundamental pillars of its educational and research model. The university plans to continue expanding its horizons and generating new alliances that benefit both its student community and the region.
