Before professionals and leaders from different academic and administrative areas, the audit team of the Colombian Institute of Technical Standards and Certification – ICONTEC was presented, who during Thursday, July 28 and Friday, July 29, carried out an external audit to monitor the certification of the Quality Management System, under the ISO 9001: 2005 standard.
“Our audit team will evaluate the conformity of the Quality Management System that the University has, the effectiveness of its processes in meeting the objectives and we will detect potential opportunities for improvement that may result in the University strengthening its capacity to meet requirements,” said Gustavo Adolfo Salcedo, lead auditor of the ICONTEC team.
For her part, Gloria Patricia Porras, director of the Internal Control Directorate, invited leaders and facilitators of the processes to “be very attentive to the requirements requested during the audit” and added that “from the Directorate of Internal Control and Management Evaluation, we will be very attentive to provide support to the processes and respond to the concerns of the auditors in the face of the cross-cutting issues that may arise, such as risk management, indicators and change management”.
The Universidad Industrial de Santander since 2008 has managed to maintain the institutional certification of the Quality Management System with effect until 2024.
