The Industrial University of Santander continues to consolidate its academic and architectural leadership at the international level. The Humanities building was selected to advance to the next round of the 2026 Building of the Year awards organized by ArchDaily, one of the most important awards in the global field of architecture.
After an initial final voting phase, the UIS project managed to place among the 75 finalists in the Universities category, competing with outstanding works from different countries.
This achievement represents recognition of the quality of the design, the functionality of the spaces, and the institutional vision that guides the development of infrastructure at the service of academia and the community.
Architecture at the service of knowledge
The Humanities building has become a landmark on the central campus thanks to its contemporary architectural design, its spaces designed for academic gatherings, and its contribution to strengthening the social sciences and humanities in the region.
This international recognition highlights not only the physical structure, but also the UIS’s commitment to excellence, innovation, and the creation of environments that promote learning, research, and comprehensive education.

The final phase of the award is decided by open voting. Therefore, the University invites its entire academic community, alumni, and the general public to participate and support this institutional achievement.
Voting will be open until February 18. Every vote counts toward the Humanities building continuing to advance in this important international competition.
