In order to participate in the first fair to offer higher education in Mitú, capital of the department of Vaupés, the Universidad Industrial de Santander is present in this territory.
Jorge Villamizar Morales, UIS manager in Territories and professor of the School of Mathematics, traveled there and held meetings with local authorities such as Luis Alfredo Gutiérrez García, governor of Vaupés; Plinio Restrepo Posada, departmental secretary of Education and Marcelino Rojas, leader of Higher Education in this portfolio.
“We have two clear objectives with this visit. One is to participate in the fair of higher education offerings that takes place here in Mitú. We also want to explore the paths of the UIS in this territory, to see how we can help the population of Vaupés in terms of education,” said Villamizar Morales.
Likewise, there has been an immediate articulation with secondary education, all this promoted by the Ministry of National Education with the support of the Universidad Industrial de Santander.
At the same time, we wish to promote the study of mathematics with the promotion of the Olympics organized by the UIS for students of public schools.
