In order for children between 8 and 12 years old to learn about astronomy in a dynamic and participatory way, encouraging exploration, reasoning and creativity, the Halley Group of the UIS will teach an advanced level children’s course on this science.
The sessions will address topics such as the origin of life in the cosmos, invisible galaxies and their secrets, planetary atmospheres, worlds with rings, among others.
The methodology prioritizes experiential learning, where each student discovers concepts through observation, experimentation and formulation, using their previous ideas of the world and the scientific method.
Classes will be held on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon, starting April 5; however, the deadline for registration is April 1.
