Jean Pereira, eighth semester student of the Zootechnics program at the Universidad Industrial de Santander – Sede Málaga, participates in a national academic mobility program at the Universidad de los Llanos, Sede Villavicencio, enriching his training with new experiences and knowledge.
“I made the decision to participate in this program because I knew it would be an enriching process both personally and professionally. UniLlanos has allowed me to deepen my knowledge of ruminant production, swine, aquaculture and the processing of animal and non-derived products, which has been a very valuable experience for my career,” highlights Jean Pereira.
During his stay, he has had the opportunity to work with the Institute of Aquaculture and Fisheries of Los Llanos in reproduction and biotechnology procedures in the laboratory with native species. In addition, he has actively participated in practical work, such as animal handling shifts, which has strengthened his skills in the field of livestock production.

In addition to the academic learning, Jean highlights the hospitality and support received from the UniLlanos university community. “It has been a very rewarding experience. They have welcomed me with great generosity, giving me access to dining halls, routes and the library. I feel part of this community and I value this opportunity very much.”
Finally, Jean Pereira extends an invitation to the university community of the UIS Malaga Campus, so that they are encouraged to live this experience: “The mobility programs offered by the UIS, both nationally and internationally, are a great opportunity for growth. I also invite them to participate in the research seedlings, where they can develop key skills for their professional future”.
With initiatives like this, the Universidad Industrial de Santander continues to promote academic excellence and the exchange of knowledge, allowing its students to be trained with a global vision and in contact with different productive and scientific contexts.
