Selection process for the new director of UISALUD is carried out with transparency and professional rigor

The Board of Directors of the Specialized Health Unit (UISALUD), accompanied by the rector of the Universidad Industrial de Santander, Hernán Porras Díaz, carried out the evaluation of the resumes of the candidates for the position of director of UISALUD. The session, held in the Rector’s Council Room, represented a key moment to learn about the proposals and strategic visions that will guide the future of the health unit.

In order to guarantee transparency in the process, the Board of Directors delegated, by unanimous vote, the selection of the candidate to the consulting firm Estrategia HT SAS, in charge of the search and pre-selection of candidates.

“The company informed us that 150 resumes were received, which were subjected to a rigorous selection process until five finalists were selected. All of them have a high level of training and experience, which represented a challenge for the Board when making the final decision,” said Professor Hernando Guerrero Amaya, representative of the teachers affiliated to the health system.

After the pre-selection of the five finalists, and with the advice of the consultant, specific criteria were established to evaluate each candidate by means of a scale and individual interviews. “From this process, we were able to reduce the list to a shortlist of three candidates, from which the Rector will make the final decision. As a Council, we have carried out a detailed assessment and we are clear about the profiles that best meet the needs of UISALUD,” explained Guerrero Amaya.

For her part, Miriam Ruiz Rodríguez, representative of the university’s management to the UISALUD Board of Directors, highlighted the rigorousness of the process and the commitment to selecting the best profile for the management of the entity. “The Board has been very careful in the evaluation of the candidates who reached this final stage. Their professional trajectories, knowledge and skills have been assessed through interviews and a detailed analysis of their resumes,” he said.

This session reaffirms UISALUD’s commitment to excellence in health management within the university community, promoting the selection of innovative leadership committed to strengthening its services and the welfare of its members.
