School of Microbiology celebrated its sixty-seventh anniversary

With an academic and recreational day, the School of Microbiology celebrated the 67th anniversary of the Microbiology program and commemorated the Day of the Bacteriologist, Microbiologist and Bioanalyst.

Three conferences were chosen for this celebration. Hormones and Emotions: The chicken or the egg?”, by Dr. Norma Alayón, Biochemist of the University of Buenos Aires (Argentina), PhD. in Biomedical Sciences. Monoclonal B-cell lymphocytes in Santander”, by Dr. Mike Alexander Celis. Bacteriologist and Clinical Laboratorian. Doctor in Basic Biomedical Sciences and professor of the School of Microbiology. 3.” Emotionally intelligent”, by Juliana Ardila. Psychologist. Specialist in Clinical Psychology. Student Counselor of the School of Health.

In the afternoon, the entrepreneurship fair was held, in which commercial samples of the students were presented. Also, there was an exhibition of posters on topics of interest of each research group of the school.

Multiple emotions were experienced in the “Escape Faculty”, a contest that measured the knowledge of students on aspects of the program.

Finally, awards were given for the photography contest, in which the categories “Beyond the eye” and “More than hair and pets” were recognized.

The aspects that were taken into account when choosing the winners were: 1. Technical and aesthetic quality: framing, focus and luminosity that make them attractive and pleasant. Originality: both in the theme and in the text accompanying it.

In the “Beyond the eye” category, second place went to “Bosque Azul” (Blue Forest), by María José Avella. First place went to “Linterna verde un sacrificio micótico”, by Iveth Carolina Suárez Duarte.

In the category “More than hair and pets”, the winner was “An anemia disguised as witchcraft”, by Andrea Carolina García Arévalo.

The winners of the “Escape Faculty” contest were also awarded.
