Innovation, development and state-of-the-art technology in favor of academia and industry were aspects highlighted by representatives of the company Quala during their visit to the Technological Park of Guatiguará (PTG) of the UIS.
Quala is a mass consumption company with a multi-Latin scope with brands that reach more than 300 million consumers in Latin America, through 10 companies that present their products to each market with more than 10 thousand collaborators.
During the visit to the PTG facilities, they learned about the different processes that take place there, such as the operation of the chocolate plant, the work of the Food Science and Technology Research Group (CICTA), among others.

“It is a park with facilities that favor research and is important for the development of students and the country. The visit to the UIS surprised me because of the quality of the professors, the interaction of the students with them, the integral approach and the start-up at industrial level with the tests they do”, said Cristina Maldonado Román, Director of Research and Development of Quala.
Within the organizational culture of the company, innovation stands out, a factor that they value as a key success factor so far and a determining factor to last in time. This is why the tour of the Guatiguará Technology Park was valued by the attendees.
“It is interesting, there is high-tech equipment, it is noticeable that students and teachers are prepared and the visit was very pleasant. The visit was 10 out of 10, I liked all the logistics, the topics seen, to see the profile of the students and in general very well”, expressed Rocio Valerio, Head of Human Management at Quala.
This tour was promoted thanks to the Office of External Relations of the UIS in order to connect local talents with one of the main mass consumption companies in the continent.
