Profesora Escuela de Enfermería

Professor Mayut Delgado Galeano, from the School of Nursing of the Universidad Industrial de Santander (UIS), represented the institution as a speaker at the 71st Congress of the Spanish Association of Pediatrics (AEP), recently held at the Palacio de Congresos in Valencia, Spain, known as the “Ciutat de les Arts i les Ciències” (City of Arts and Sciences).

In this scenario of international stature, Professor Delgado Galeano presented the oral communication entitled “Human care and empowerment of health professionals in pediatric care: building knowledge and transforming skills”, in which she highlighted the importance of strengthening humanization in pediatric care and the empowerment of human talent in health. This presentation is the result of several years of committed work in the field of humanized care from the disciplinary perspective of nursing.

This congress is one of the most important events in the international pediatric field. It brings together every year health professionals dedicated to the integral care of children, including physicians, pediatricians and nursing professionals. This year’s edition included 157 hours of face-to-face activity, 31 practical workshops and 21 round tables, consolidating itself as a space of high academic and clinical impact. Of the more than 2,000 papers submitted, only 800 were accepted, with the participation of experts from Spain, Colombia, Portugal, Mexico, the United States, Ecuador, Peru, Argentina and Uruguay.

Professor Delgado Galeano’s participation was possible thanks to the support of the Vice-Rectory for Research and Extension of the UIS, which financed the international mobility.
