Engineer Olga Patricia Ortiz Cancino took over as Director of Graduate Studies at the Universidad Industrial de Santander.
She studied Petroleum Engineering at the UIS, later graduated from the Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering at her alma mater and since 2006 has been linked as a professor, so the institution has been her home for decades.
“I take on this challenge with great pleasure and optimism because there are new challenges to strengthen the university’s graduate programs. I will put my efforts and expertise to move forward the projects that the UIS has in this area”, said Ortiz Cancino.
During the ceremony, presided over by the rector Hernán Porras Díaz, Petr Tsygankov was also sworn in as a full professor of the School of Physics.
“I will be in the experimental area of plasma and for me it is very important because I have been working together with the UIS for almost 30 years and I am sure that we can do more deep research with the university for the benefit of students and professors,” said Tsygankov.
The inauguration took place in the Rector’s Council Room and was attended by managers, colleagues and friends.
