The architect Lorenzo Castro, designer of the project, highlighted the commitment and dedication in the construction of the work, emphasizing its remarkable progress.
“I am very excited to see how the construction is progressing; it is a great gift both for Malaga and for me. I remember that in 2016 the project was presented to the Superior Council here in Malaga, and now to see it materialize is really gratifying. You can see the effort and dedication, the metal structure is already visible, and now a key phase begins: finishing the building and doing it with the highest quality. It is a crucial moment, so I will be visiting the site periodically to check that the architectural and structural details are delivered in the best way. I thank the UIS team, led by Rector Hernán Porras, and all those who are making the construction of this project possible”, said Lorenzo Castro.

Engineer Iván Rojas, supervisor of the contract, said that the metal structure and the concrete structure are practically finished.
“We are making a supervision visit to the construction project of the new campus, which has 16,500 square meters of constructed area in the building and approximately 7,000 square meters of urban planning. The works are progressing at a good pace to meet the established contractual goal. It is important to note that the metal and concrete structure is very advanced, practically completed, and now we will begin the finishing phase, which will include glass, wood and what we call the concrete shells’”.

In turn, he added that the visit of the architect Lorenzo Castro, designer of the project, is intended to guarantee the quality in the completion of the building’s finishes, ensuring an aesthetically attractive, architecturally well achieved and functional result for the activities that take place at the UIS Malaga Campus, as well as for those that will be carried out from the region and the department of Santander. “It is an inclusive campus for the entire community,” highlighted Engineer Iván Rojas.
For her part, the Coordinator of the UIS Malaga Campus, Deicy Dalila Delgado Diaz, highlighted the progress of the work in terms of the structure, since modules 1, 2, 3 and 4 show a significant and favorable progress for the new campus of the UIS Malaga Campus.
