The Universidad Industrial de Santander has stood out nationally in the medals of combat sports such as Karate Do, Judo and Taekwondo, and this 2025 will be represented in the National University Games Ascún with 49 people among the three disciplines.
The Karate Do team has 23 qualified athletes and will be the team with the most representatives in the National Games that will take place in Bucaramanga. The team is directed by Juan José Landínez Cruz and last year in Pereira gave 19 medals to the UIS, adding five golds, three silvers and eleven bronzes.

In the case of the Taewkondo Selection, directed by Giovanny Vega Villamizar, 15 athletes will participate, who will have the challenge of surpassing the six medals won in the National Championship of the Eje Cafetero 2024.

The Judo Team will be in the competition with 11 students, coached by César Berbeo, who are aiming to increase the four medals won last year.
These three teams were the ones that won the most medals for the UIS in Pereira and this year they are going for the same goal in the National University Games Ascún that will begin in mid-October in Bucaramanga.
