On Sunday, March 6, the 31st edition of the Universidad Industrial de Santander Athletic Race will be held in-person modality, which this year will have a four-kilometer course that will run along the central campus of the institution.
For this reason, the Department of Physical Education and Sports informs those who have already registered that they can go to office 102 to pick up the number to be used on the day of the race.
To date there are 1,800 registered for the in-person modality, among students, professors and employees of the UIS. Registrations expire on February 27. In this link you can register in advance: https://bit.ly/3FSlxCI
“From February 15, those registered can go to the faculty office number 102 from 9 a.m. to noon, and from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. They present their ID card and there they will be given the number with the chip that must be worn on the day of the race. The idea we have is that there will be 3,000 runners, which is the maximum we have allowed as a bubble. If we reach the maximum, they must register in the virtual modality”, said Fabio Villafrades González, director of the Department of Physical Education and Sports.
The categories of UIS alumni, national and international university students and the only open category (external) will continue with the virtual format used last year.
The person who wishes to participate will have to register at this link: https://forms.gle/ax9EjDHDnKBsbdYq9. Once the application is approved, you will receive an email with instructions and rules.
Then you have the possibility to run the four kilometers, between February 27 and March 6, in the place of your choice. The times will be measured by a mobile application that the organization will decide and those results must be sent to the directives of the UIS Athletic Race for further review.
