
Medical students and members of the SIGHEN seedbed at the Industrial University of Santander won first, second, and third place in the poster category during the Third Teaching, Research, and Innovation Forum E.S.E HUS, held on November 24.
First place: Intrafamilial phenotypic variability in pyruvate dehydrogenase E1alpha (PDHAD) deficiency: case report. Luis Alberto Melo Porras.
Second place: Malan overgrowth syndrome: diagnosis assisted by artificial intelligence. Alejandra Mateus Saavedra.
Third place: Dysmorphology and phenotypic variability in type IVA mucopolysaccharidosis: a series of cases in northeastern Colombia. Julián David Hernández Orduz.
During the conference, medical student Daniela Contreras Duque, also a member of the SIGENH seed group of the GENEHUIS research group, won second place for best oral presentation with her research on “New variant of Witteven Kolk (Witkos) syndrome reported in Colombia for the first time.”
