Before the UIS Rector, Professor Hernán Porras Díaz, 17 new employees at the professional and auxiliary levels assumed functions in the service of the Universidad Industrial de Santander under the modality of temporary positions. The appointments were approved by the Resolución de Rectoría No 031 del 2022.

“For me, it is a source of pride because I have always been related to the university, so being able to contribute to everything it has given me is a great opportunity, I assume this position with great expectations and from there I can collaborate to move forward many academic planning projects,” said Martha Ligia Londoño, professional attached to Planning.

During the ceremony, civil servants were also appointed who in 2022 will assume new work challenges in the University’s Academic and administrative units, as in the case of Leidy Chacón Carreño, appointed as the new administrative assistant assigned to the School of Petroleum Engineering. “It is a great responsibility for the opportunity to take on this new work challenge at UIS; I came from another office last year, and I have the capacity and aptitude to assume it. It is a total pride, I am grateful to God and to the UIS for giving me the opportunity to contribute a grain of sand to carry out all the missionary activities,” she said.

During the inauguration ceremony held in the Jorge Zalamea room, the UIS Rector invited the new employees to work with dedication and commitment in the full development of their functions in the service of the institution. He also reminded them to comply with the established biosecurity protocols and individual and collective actions to prevent the spread of the virus and its variants. The civil servants assumed their positions, which will be effective until June 30th, 2022.
