The activity, which took place at the Scientific Complex for Health and Life Sciences Research, was presided over by the Academic Vice Rector, Professor Olga Mercedes Álvarez Ojeda. The meeting was also attended by Engineer Mario Andrés Betancurt Pinzón, Alumni Representative to the Superior Council, and Fabio Andrés Salah García, president of the UIS Alumni Association, ASEDUIS.

The meeting, in which more than 40 alumni participated, was quite warm. It began with a tour of the scientific complex and later, the protocol activity took place. It counted with the participation of the presbyter Freddy Ramirez, spiritual guide of the University, who left a message of reflection, love and fraternal union. The 12 graduates of the 1982 graduating class who passed away over the years were also remembered.

A total of 46 graduates were recognized and presented with a symbolic diploma and a graduation button. As in a graduation ceremony, each one came to the front, took their recognition, and was remembered with a photograph from that time and a current one.

This ceremony had a special and emotional connotation. The graduates, in gratitude to life, decided to grant an economic support of $500,000 per month to a first semester medical student with a good academic average and low economic resources. This activity was supervised by a professor-tutor in charge of following up the student, identifying him/her, and being the intermediary of the support that the graduates of the class of 1982 wanted to give.

At the end, the group Tunarte UIS, enlivened the evening and farewell to the meeting.
