After a visit by a delegation of the Ministry of National Education together with the contract supervisor, the coordinator of the Headquarters, contractor, auditors and local authorities, it was evidenced the satisfactory progress of the construction “Parque Universidad”, the new Headquarters of the Universidad Industrial de Santander in the capital of the province of García Rovira.
According to the contract supervisor, Engineer Iván Rojas, the work is progressing according to the stipulated schedule and will be delivered on schedule, that is, in September 2025.
“As of today we are 13% complete and everything is on schedule. As we have reiterated on several occasions, this project is a benefit for the entire region, including students and the community in general. We will have an auditorium that will serve the entire province, as well as a University Park and a library, among other spaces. In terms of construction, there are two work fronts, one in the field and the other in Bucaramanga, where laboratories are being set up to guarantee the conditions of the elements. The architectural details of the project with colored concrete, decorative wooden elements and resilia concrete that allows folds to be made in rectangular areas, represented a novel detail since it is the first time this has been done in Colombia,” said the contract supervisor.
For her part, the coordinator of the UIS Malaga Campus, Deicy Dalida Delgado Diaz, also gave the university community a satisfactory report on the progress of the work. “Our mega-project is progressing in its respective phases and we will have the University Park on schedule.
