UIS promotes creativity in scientific dissemination through digital media

Participantes del Taller de Estrategias Creativas e Innovadoras para Difundir Resultados de Investigación.

The Universidad Industrial de Santander (UIS) was the scene of the Workshop on Creative and Innovative Strategies to Disseminate Research Results, an initiative aimed at strengthening the communication skills of students and teachers in the context of science and technology. The event was led by María Camila Velandia, Research and Extension Coordinator of the MUSILAB UIS Research Group, with the support of its members and the MUSILAB Research Seminar.

This event took place within the framework of the “Activities for the consolidation of UIS research seedbeds”, promoted by the Vice Rector’s Office for Research and Extension (VIE), as part of the institutional strategies to promote scientific dissemination through digital media.

The workshop proposed an experiential learning route that allowed the 32 participants -among students, members of seedbeds, teachers and the directors of research and extension of the faculties of Sciences and Human Sciences- to go through different thematic stations. In each one of them, the students of the MUSILAB seedbed shared their knowledge about pre-production, audio and video recording and editing, with a creative and innovative approach applied to the dissemination of research projects

Organized in groups, the participants not only learned about the process of creating digital content, but also culminated the day with the production and editing of their own scientific videos. This dynamic allowed the consolidation of a practical and fun learning experience, in which creativity, collaboration and critical thinking were the protagonists.

The workshop not only fulfilled its educational objective, but also reaffirmed the commitment of the UIS with comprehensive training in communication skills for science, promoting new ways to bring knowledge closer to society.
