Your Campus,” a space designed to strengthen research projects, connect the academic community, and bring students and professors closer to the fascinating world of materials and surface science.
During the event, attendees were able to answer key questions such as:
- What internal UIS body supports your research and projects?
- What are the Central Laboratories of the UIS Vice-Rectory for Research and Outreach?
- What high-tech laboratories are available for theses or projects?
- How can you access advanced material and surface characterization techniques?
About her experience, Nicole Fiallo, a Chemical Engineering student, commented:
“I loved this event because I discovered many tools I didn’t know were within our reach. Now I have new ideas to strengthen my graduation project, and I know where to go to get support.”
For her part, Karen Gómez, a Mechanical Engineering student, highlighted:
“It’s very valuable that UIS brings these spaces to the regional campuses. Sometimes we think that only in Bucaramanga can you access these resources, but today we confirmed that we can also take advantage of them here in Barrancabermeja.”

This event served as a prelude to the 1st Ibero-American XPS School, which will be held from August 11 to 25, 2025, at the Guatiguará Technology Park.
The event represented a unique opportunity to discover new tools, strengthen research capabilities, and open doors to science and technology at UIS — an unmissable experience for growth as a professional and researcher!
