Students from schools in Bucaramanga and its metropolitan area who were finalists in the UIS Regional Mathematics Olympics are medalists in the OLIMPRI International Mathematics Olympiad.
This group of children and adolescents participated in this academic contest in representation of the project in the Third National Mathematics Olympiad, organized jointly with eight other public universities, according to the Organizing Committee of the UIS Regional Mathematics Olympiads, who praises the students.
Below, we share the names of our representatives to the national competition.
From this select group it was determined that the students Anthony Sandoval Benítez and Juan Diego García Chávez were part of the national delegation teams in the aforementioned international olympiad.
Students in grades 4, 5 and 6 from 16 Latin American countries participated in Olimpri 2023. “It is highly satisfactory for us, to proudly highlight those who represented our country through their participation in the national delegations, which in the end allowed us to occupy outstanding places in the overall awarding, thus: 3 gold medals, 1 silver medal and 2 bronze medals in the tests, while in the group tests the national delegation obtained 1 silver cup and 2 bronze cups”, specifies the Organizing Committee of the Regional Mathematics Olympics of the UIS.
Finally, they reiterate the importance of encouraging those who participated in this opportunity on behalf of the ORM-UIS project to continue doing so in other opportunities, maintaining leadership, creativity, rigor and teamwork, which are the distinctive features of our students, for which they are recognized nationally, and now, even internationally.
Congratulations also to the liaison teachers, to the educational institutions that actively decide to get involved in these extracurricular activities and to the families, the true source of motivation for our girls and boys.
