With the aim of strengthening a proposal developed through a participatory process and aligned with the needs of the university community, the Universidad Industrial de Santander (UIS) continues to hold co-creation sessions for the institution’s new Office of Wellbeing.
On this occasion, students, faculty members, and staff are taking part in this space for dialogue and collective development. The methodology is designed to encourage different members of the UIS community to contribute based on their experiences and perspectives, with the goal of identifying opportunities for improvement and enriching the proposal before it is finalized.
Throughout the nine sessions, different aspects of the proposal are analyzed and validated, including its main objective, overall structure, proposed actions, and governance model. This exercise is organized around six strategic components:
- Community Affairs
- Socioeconomic Support
- Comprehensive Health
- Sports and Recreation Management
- Cultural Management
- Human Development

From Monday, September 7, through Friday, September 11, co-creation sessions are being held for the institution’s different faculties and academic programs.
A Proposal Built with the University Community
“I find the proposal interesting because it gives the academic community the opportunity to participate in the discussions taking place. I really like the methodology and the way it has been designed, particularly the fact that the sessions have been organized around specific topics and that faculty members, students, and professionals can all participate,” said Johana Linares García, a professor at the School of Social Work.
“We will hold sessions throughout this week, both in the morning and afternoon, distributed across each of the University’s faculties. We will also be at the Guatiguará Technology Park (PTG), on the Floridablanca Campus, where we will conduct a specific session with administrative staff from the Bucaramanga Metropolitan Area, as well as with IPRED in Bucaramanga,” said María Carolina Acevedo Martínez, a professional from the Office of Administrative Vice Presidency.
Through these spaces, UIS is advancing a participatory process aimed at ensuring that every voice becomes a fundamental part of building a relevant, comprehensive wellbeing proposal that is aligned with the needs of the entire university community.
