
The Student Welfare Office at the Industrial University of Santander (UIS) announces that registration for the identification of the academically vulnerable group, for the cafeteria service for the 2026-2 semester, will be open from today, Friday, April 10, through April 17.
This group consists of undergraduate students who, due to family, economic, or social circumstances, are at risk of losing their student status due to poor academic performance.
Vulnerability criteria for requesting an assessment:
- Student diagnosed with malnutrition, as confirmed by the Health and Psychosocial Development Section.
- Family Economic Unit (U.E.F.) not enrolled in the contributory social security system (neither parent is a contributor).
- Father or mother deceased within the last year.
- Father or mother incarcerated.
- Students who have lost both parents.
- A member of the F.E.U. suffering from a high-cost illness.
- A member of the F.E.U. requiring permanent home care.
- Students who are single mothers or single fathers, with dependent children, and live with them while pursuing their studies at the University.
- Students enrolled in the state strategy for overcoming extreme poverty, Red Unidos.
- Indigenous peoples, Afro-Colombians or people of African descent, Raizales, and Roma (Gypsy community).
Steps for registering on the UIS website:
1. Go to the website www.uis.edu.co /estudiantes/pregrado-presencial. Enter your UIS student ID and personal password. Select your current academic system:
- On-campus undergraduate program at the UIS main campus
- Barrancabermeja
- Socorro
- Málaga
- Barbosa
2. Student Wellness Services.
3. Cafeteria services.
4. Registration.
5. Submit a request for a vulnerability assessment.
Late applications will not be accepted. Results will be sent via email on Monday, June 15, 2026.
