The Industrial University of Santander informs its administrative staff (permanent and temporary) and teaching staff (permanent) about the update to the procedure for managing requests for permits, unpaid leave, and service commissions. Starting May 1, 2026, these requests will no longer be processed through the institutional INTRANET and will instead be handled exclusively through the UISARD system.
This change is part of the institution’s digital modernization strategy, which aims to centralize and optimize administrative processes, offering greater efficiency, traceability, and control in the management of work-related requests.
From now on, employees must log into the system through the official UISARD portal, where they will find the corresponding module to submit each type of request. This digital space allows for more organized handling of requests, facilitating tracking and reducing response times.
To support the transition, the University has also provided support materials explaining how the system works and how to use the UIS employee panel, through which these requests are processed.
Benefits of the new system
Members of the university community have already highlighted some of the system’s benefits. “The process is much clearer and more organized. Before, we depended on several steps in the intranet; now everything is centralized in one place,” said Karen Rodríguez, a professional in the Information and Communication Technologies Division (DTIC).
Meanwhile, Gilberto Sánchez, ICT advisor to the Rector’s Office, emphasized the ease of tracking requests: “Now we can see the status of each process without needing additional emails. That greatly improves timing and communication.”
With this implementation, the institution continues advancing in the transformation of its internal processes, promoting technological tools that simplify procedures and strengthen administrative management.
