A delegation from the Universidad Industrial de Santander (UIS) visited Google’s facilities in Bogotá as part of an initiative to gain first-hand knowledge of the technology solutions offered by the company and explore opportunities for their application in the University’s academic, administrative, and technological development processes.
During the visit, UIS representatives learned about various Google Cloud features. The platform brings together tools for multiple purposes, including productivity and office applications, cloud services, and artificial intelligence solutions.
One of the areas that generated the greatest interest was artificial intelligence management. Among the tools presented was a management platform that enables users to monitor and control artificial intelligence agents, manage permissions, and obtain detailed information about their use.
These capabilities also open up possibilities for automating tasks, such as reviewing and classifying emails, as well as organizing information according to users’ roles and responsibilities.
Integration with UIS Developments
The visit also provided an opportunity to identify ways of incorporating these technologies into the developments currently being undertaken by the University. One of the possibilities discussed was leveraging the artificial intelligence infrastructure available in the cloud and integrating it with the technological tools and solutions already used by UIS.
Based on what was observed during the visit, this integration could be carried out without completely replacing existing developments. Instead, the approach would focus on taking advantage of the tools available through Google and connecting them with the solutions the University has already built.
This approach would make it possible to complement existing technological capabilities with specialized artificial intelligence and cloud services, while also moving toward greater automation of development processes.

Engaging with Google represents an opportunity for UIS to continue exploring technological alternatives that can help optimize its processes and strengthen its capabilities in artificial intelligence.
Learning about tools for managing AI agents, controlling permissions, automating tasks, and handling large volumes of information opens up new possibilities for the University’s digital transformation.
The visit therefore provided a valuable opportunity to identify technologies that can be integrated with UIS’s own infrastructure and developments, with the goal of building solutions that address the needs of the university community and strengthen the institution’s technological innovation ecosystem.
