A refreshed experience for learning, practicing, and strengthening your knowledge of electrocardiography
The “ECG for Nurses” mobile app introduces its new update, version 1.6.0, with significant improvements in performance, navigation, and the learning experience.
What’s new in this version?
Global search: to quickly find the 33 learning topics and 15 arrhythmias.
Pick up where you left off: without having to start each module over.
Progress tracking: with topics you’ve already covered and a progress bar.
Improved rhythm simulator: with a more comprehensive self-assessment experience.
Badges and achievements: to recognize progress in learning and arrhythmia recognition.
Test feedback: including the rhythms you need to review and the correct answer.
Dark mode: available throughout the app and customizable to user preferences.
Better adaptation to different screen sizes: with improvements to display and navigation.
Audio fixes for the simulator: and other bugs detected in the previous version.
Lighter app: the download size has been reduced from 66.8 MB to 17.2 MB, a 74% reduction.
A tool developed by the UIS School of Nursing
The “ECG for Nursing” app was developed in 2020 at the School of Nursing of the Industrial University of Santander by Professor Judy Ximena Ramos, with the aim of facilitating the learning of electrocardiography among students and healthcare professionals.
The app features four learning modules:
Principles of Electrocardiography
ECG Recording
Basic ECG Interpretation
Recognition and Management of Arrhythmias
It also includes a heart rhythm simulator that displays moving waveforms, accompanied by information and clues to facilitate their identification. By activating the test feature, users can put their knowledge to the test through the random presentation of different rhythms and self-assess their ability to recognize them.
Designed for learning, practicing, and self-assessment
ECG for Nursing is primarily aimed at health sciences students, but it also serves as a support tool for professionals interested in strengthening their knowledge of electrocardiography.
It’s free, and once downloaded, it doesn’t require an internet connection to work. It’s currently available for devices running the Android® operating system.
