Starting university brings new challenges, learning experiences, and responsibilities. To support students throughout this process, the Industrial University of Santander (UIS), through Student Wellbeing, offers wellbeing pathways and programs designed to promote healthy habits, prevent health risks, and provide support in different areas of health.
For this reason, first-year students can benefit from these services, whether or not they have paid the health service fees. Available options include a range of Health Promotion and Prevention (PyP) programs, primarily managed by UISalud and Student Wellbeing:
- Healthy Back: Promotes healthy lifestyles and encourages the adoption of proper posture habits to reduce risk factors associated with spinal disorders.
- Cardiovascular Risk Management: Aims to prevent the development of modifiable cardiovascular disease risk factors among healthy students through educational interventions focused on changing attitudes and behaviors and promoting healthy lifestyles.
- Nutritional Education: Encourages positive changes in eating habits to help students achieve and maintain a healthy nutritional status.
- Oral Health: Promotes attitudes and behaviors focused on oral health self-care through educational and preventive interventions.
- Visual Health: Promotes eye health and the early detection of visual and ocular conditions that may affect the student community.
- Cervical, Breast, and Testicular Cancer Prevention: Seeks to reduce morbidity associated with cervical, breast, and testicular cancer among university students, particularly those who are sexually active, through early detection and timely treatment, with an emphasis on education and the promotion of a culture of self-care.

A Space to Get Organized and Feel Supported
The university experience also involves learning how to manage time and academic responsibilities. Therefore, if academic demands begin to cause stress, Student Wellbeing encourages students to make use of its support spaces and resources, guided by multidisciplinary professionals.
In addition, as a resource to help students organize their activities and ideas throughout the semester, they can access a free planner designed as a practical tool for planning their academic and personal schedules.
Explore the pathways and programs available, connect with Student Wellbeing, and find the support you need to make the most of and enjoy this new stage of university life.
