“The Roar of a Dream” is the new book authored by historians from the Industrial University of Santander (UIS)—Víctor Manuel Peña Melo, Raúl Mauricio Prada Solano, Yezid David Sequeda Garrido, and Fabián Snneiderr Solano Pico—and edited by Miguel Darío Cuadros Sánchez, also a historian and professor at the university.
Published by Ediciones UIS, the book traces key moments in the history of Atlético Bucaramanga, exploring significant events, key figures, and episodes that have shaped the team’s evolution and its relationship with the city.
But soccer is just one of the themes explored in this book. Its pages also delve into different dimensions of the history of Bucaramanga and Santander, examining aspects related to urban development, popular culture, the economy, and society—all of which help shed light on some of the transformations the city has undergone throughout the 20th and 21st centuries.
In this way, *El rugir de un sueño* is a publication that, beyond telling the story of a soccer team, helps preserve the memory of a city and the various expressions that are part of its identity.
The official launch will take place on Saturday, August 29, as part of the Ulibro Book Fair, at 5:00 p.m., on the Neomundo Independent Stage. During this event, the authors and the editor will participate in a discussion in which they will share details about the process of researching, structuring, and producing the book.
“El rugir de un sueño” will be available for purchase starting Tuesday, August 25, at the Tienda Universitaria, located on the UIS Central Campus in Bucaramanga.
A book born of history, research, and memory to tell a part of who we are as a city.
