The XVIII Colombian Congress and XII International Congress of Human Genetics, organized by the Colombian Association of Human Genetics (ACGH), was held in Cartagena from June 11 to 14.

This event brought together more than 543 researchers in the area of genetics working in the country and counted with the participation of 23 international speakers, 55 national speakers and 190 speakers of which 28 presented their research in oral and 162 in posters.

Additionally, in this version of the congress was held as a preamble to the event, the first symposium of graduate students in Human Genetics that had among its most relevant activities the MasterGen contest, an activity in which several students members of the SIGENH seedbed participated.
