The Industrial University of Santander continues its process to appoint the next Rector for the 2025–2028 term, in accordance with Superior Council Agreement No. 007 of March 11, 2025. As part of this process, a Candidates’ Forum will be held on the main campus in Bucaramanga.
The event will take place on Thursday, April 24, starting at 8:00 a.m., at the Luis A. Calvo Auditorium, and will feature the participation of the six officially registered candidates:

• Carlos Enrique Vecino Arenas
• Héctor Alirio Méndez Sánchez
• Luis Fernando Bueno González
• Edgar Ricardo Monroy Vargas
• Hernán Porras Díaz
During the forum, the candidates will have the opportunity to present their proposals and visions for the future of UIS, allowing the university community to hear firsthand their approaches to key areas such as teaching, research, outreach, social engagement, and university administration.
The event will be broadcast live through the University’s official Facebook page (@UISColombia), enabling the participation of the entire academic community and interested members of the public in this important selection process.
The voting day will take place on Monday, April 28, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., as outlined in the electoral calendar.
