Professor Carlos Arturo Conde Cotes, professor attached to the Department of Basic Sciences, Physiology Section, and member of the Neurosciences and Behavior group UIS – UPB; Angie Sidney Naranjo Garcia, professor of the Department of Basic Sciences, Physiology Section, II year PhD student in Biomedical Sciences UIS, member of the group of Neurosciences and Behavior UIS – UPB, and Margarita Lucia Porras Piza, VI semester student of Medicine, UIS and member of the group of Neurosciences and Behavior UIS – UPB, and Margarita Lucia Porras Piza, VI semester student of Medicine, UIS and member of the group of Neurosciences and Behavior UIS – UPB, participated in the XVI International Colloquium of Research for University Students and VIII International Colloquium of University Research, held by the Institute of Research in Food Behavior and Nutrition of the University of Guadalajara, Mexico.
The event was aimed at undergraduate and graduate students in biology, health sciences and other scientific areas. The participation of the professor and the students took place in virtual mode, on November 19, with a paper entitled “Evaluation of physiological indicators in pregnant women: relationship between heart rate variability, blood pressure and gestational age”.
The work presented allowed estimating mean arterial pressure and diastolic arterial pressure from heart rate and gestational age, in addition to identifying changes in cardiovascular physiological variables characteristic of pregnancy.
It is important to highlight that the UIS – UPB Neurosciences and Behavior research group has been working on the collection and analysis of physiological records using inexpensive and easily accessible resources that allow the identification of functional behavioral patterns.
