The Universidad Industrial de Santander (UIS) held the eighth and last day of reflection in the Agora of the Faculty of Human Sciences, a space dedicated to the analysis and presentation of proposals for the reform of the General Statute. This activity brought together students from different campuses, who actively participated in the discussion of the draft prepared by the Tripartite Technical Secretariat.
During the day, they sought to unify the needs of the university community, as well as those of the Institute for Regional Projection and Distance Education – IPRED. Andrés Manrique, UIS student, highlighted the importance of listening to the students from the regional campuses, in order to socialize the draft proposal and align criteria.
The participation of representatives from UIS Malaga, Barbosa, Socorro and Barrancabermeja was remarkable. Diana Ariza, Student representative to the Academic Council, emphasized that it is crucial that the proposal to be presented to the Academic Council and, subsequently, to the Superior Council, reflects the real needs of the student community.
The day not only served as a space for dialogue, but also strengthened the active participation of students in the construction of a regulatory framework that responds to their realities and expectations. The UIS thus continues to promote the collaboration and commitment of its community in institutional improvement.
It is important to highlight that the graduates of the UIS will have their own day of reflection on the Statute Reform, to give space for dialogue and construction of the future of the university. This event will take place next Wednesday, November 27 at 5:00 p.m., in the SEA auditorium of the University Welfare, a day that will be a hybrid modality.
