As part of Women’s Month, the Faculty of Science of the Universidad Industrial de Santander (UIS) developed the event ‘Inspire yourself among women scientists’, an initiative that brought together 450 students from public educational institutions, mostly from rural areas of the region. This meeting sought to promote the participation of women in the scientific field.
During the event, the young students had the opportunity to interact with renowned researchers and professors of the UIS, who shared their experiences and knowledge about women’s scientific work. This exchange generated an atmosphere of inspiration and motivation, where the students were able to see firsthand the impact that women can have in the world of science.

“I think it is excellent because they showed us that women are influencing science much more, and in our town women do not have so many opportunities, so it is very good that they give us this kind of spaces” highlighted Lizeth Sofía Sierra, student of the Fray José de las Casas Novas school in the municipality of San Andrés.
