A new stage began this Monday, February 3 at the Universidad Industrial de Santander with the start of classes for the 2025-1 academic period.
Once again the classrooms were full, the common areas of the campus were highlighted with the presence of students who met again and once again shared academic and personal tasks.
“I feel nervous and happy to return to the University, it is another home for me and the truth is that it has been the best thing that has happened in my life to study here and meet good people, it seems to me that the UIS has a very suitable environment to study,” said Jenny Alejandra Ardila Mendoza, a student of Chemical Engineering.
Caleb Santiago Rivera Castellanos, who is in his fourth semester of Petroleum Engineering, expressed his excitement about returning to classes. “Normally at home I feel that it is the same dynamic and arriving at UIS is to feel the excitement of being with my friends, another home and being in the campus areas makes me feel good.”
It was also the first day of studies for the young people who entered their first semester, a special event for them as they begin a new personal and professional path.
“It has been cool, I am very excited to start the day with English class, at 6 in the morning, but equally excited to be here at the best university in Santander. I’m getting to know the campus better, seeing the classrooms and I think it’s very nice, I really like it,” said Silvia Sofia Lopez Rodriguez, a medical student.
For its part, the School of Health welcomed 255 first-year students. Medicine, 110; Microbiology and Bioanalysis, 60; Nursing, 50; and Nutrition 35 is the consolidated for this period. On this occasion, Physiotherapy did not have any admissions, since it is an annualized program.
The regional offices of Barrancabermeja, Malaga, Socorro and Barbosa also had students returning to classes for their respective programs.
