Parents of first-year students were welcomed to Universidad Industrial de Santander by members of the Academic Council, headed by Rector Hernán Porras Díaz, to learn more about the university, their children’s new home of studies.
For the 2025-1 academic year, which begins this February 3, about 1,800 young people will begin their university studies. During the event, the guests also received a serenade by the Tuna UIS and listened to the hymns in the voices of the members of the University Choir.
“It is a great pride for me that my son has access to the largest university in Colombia and for the people of Santander, it is a pleasure to have him here. The process was very easy, it is the best option that we have in Santander to access the university”, said Luis Augusto Quiroz Alvarado, father of the young Luis Quiroz Leal, who will study Mechanical Engineering.
This event is part of the Welcome Week program organized by the UIS, thanks to the work of the Academic Excellence System, which will continue until Friday, January 31.
